On the morning of June 22nd, the day before the Brexit vote, Parisians set off from France with freshly-baked croissants and messages of love for anyone passing through Kings Cross, in a gesture of goodwill, friendship and solidarity from one side of the Channel to the other.
I captured this moving grassroots campaign and created an emotional film to spearhead the campaign on Facebook, all by the end of June 22nd. The campaign was hugely successful, offering a sliver of love and hope in a political campaign fraught with bile and anger. #OperationCroissant reached hundreds of thousands of people, becoming the national top-trending topic on Twitter. The video on Facebook received over 200,000 views and had a reach of over half a million by the time the polls closed on June 23rd.
